CRAVE FAQs

What is it?

A rejuvenation cohort for healthcare professionals. It is grounded in the stress prevention & intervention brain benefits of body-based play. It centers groups that experience PTSD from environments and shared experiences like crisis response & community caregiving during chronic social needs.

Who created it?

Mishara D. Winston, BS, AM: A former licensed recreation & adventure based mental health therapist who documents historical community care models for mental health that protect the health of community caregivers too – as global examples.

A Black queer woman focused on preserving & protecting the caregivers, helping the helpers and letting the healers in our communities be human (especially during the 2020+ ongoing crises) through body-honesty.

What is “body-honesty?”

A phrase coined to describe the cultural practice of believing the nervous systems responses as important invitations for stress resets - through choices to over-ride the body through damage or play, pleasure and rest to self-protect. These cultural concepts pre-date Mishara’s training in adventure therapy and are documented in her work Tribe Thrive.

What will we do?

Together, we will get out of our super smart head and into our much smarter bodies. You will use body-based, ease-focused, “choose your own adventure” style daily practices to help you follow your own body and center your own nervous system to go against the grind culture grain, so can stay in your gifts, passions, and be honest about your real desires, dreams and cravings. Because that’s how your community needs you best. You are to be protected, not exhausted..

Who can join?

Any healthcare professional, community caregiver or healer focused on wellness who wants to use the body-honesty of play, pleasure, and rest to give their nervous system daily release about joy, grief, hope, rage, wonder and everything in between. We lean on self-trust and creative expression to follow what your body wants and give you space and support to move through the experience within your comfort level. No pressure. No perfection..

Can I recommend someone?

Yes. Refer them. Share the word within your networks. Everyone knows a health care provider who would love more “permission” to be fully rejuvenated. Grind culture & ableism are the norm in our time. I bet you know a professional who would love their loved ones to normalize, “you don’t have to ‘earn’ joy and you deserve to protect your care.”

What’s Included?

Being a marginalized group, while supporting marginalized groups.  Super Hero-ism - in work, marriage, parenting, friendship etc. Resentment & exhaustion. Fear of cracks in the façade -breakdowns. Time demands. Societal “callings” that encourage self harm. Shutting down feelings to survive professionally.

Also included : Practices for

Being an authentic, rested reciprocally nourished, community member. Boundaries – as kept promises to yourself. Including for crisis professionals during continual crisis. Processing internal reactions to pleasure by increasing our range for feelings like joy and curiosity in discomfort. Resetting our expectations by being givers who regularly say "YES" to being receivers. Sustaining care mindsets by avoiding isolation.

An intimate community that declines the pedestal and trap of being a hero, silently & continually burning out.

How Much Is it?

$3500 * up to $500 reduced depending on need. Payment plan now available.

Can I watch play back recordings?

Not realistically. The 3 months are movement-centered using concepts of communal experience-based learning. One must be in the community and sharing the experience to be supported through it. Furthermore, we value the transparency and vulnerability of community caregivers, so we contribute to the safety of the space by not recording their private rejuvenation journeys.

Will I have access after the 3 months?

Yes! There is ongoing access so that each cohort may join the next and continue to receive the support of a community of peers who center their body’s joy and care as just as important as their schedules to support others.
